the plant
Claremont Renewable Energy is a cooperative association organized under Minnesota Statues Chapter 308B in July 2006. We intend to construct and operate a gas-fired ethanol plant in or near Claremont, Minnesota. We expect the plant to have a “nameplate” or design production capacity of 55 million gallons per year of denatured ethanol. We will run as a dry mill corn-processing plant that will benefit investors, farmers and the local community.
Also using 19.6 million bushels of local corn per year. Producing 167,000 tons of DDGS a year.
What makes Claremont Renewable Energy Unique?
- We have available corn for commitment
- We have rail connection to major markets
- We have highway 14 access
- We have agreements with an existing producer
- We have a management team with operating knowledge from 9 other ethanol plants and combined 60 years experience
- We have a corn delivery agreement to secure our source of corn and spread risk
- There is NO dilution from early investors
Al-Corn and CRE Working Together
We have entered into both a Development Services Agreement and a Management Services Agreement with Al-Corn Clean Fuel, currently our sole member. Al-Corn has been successfully operating an ethanol plant less than one mile from our contemplated project site for 11 years. Collaboration with Al-Corn will significantly reduce the learning curve for the principals of the Cooperative. Al-Corn’s principal office is located in Claremont, Minnesota.
Under the Development Services Agreement, Al-Corn is to provide various services necessary to develop and assist in overseeing construction of the facility. These services are to schedule evaluating project feasibility, assisting with public perception management, assisting in choosing our contractor(s), providing plant design input, assisting in utility negotiations, and assisting with obtaining debt financing. This agreement will expire when the construction of the plant has been substantially completed.
Under the Management Services Agreement, once construction has been successfully completed, Al-Corn is to begin providing various services necessary to manage the plant. Al-Corn will have the general responsibility for the supervision of all business and administrative operations of the Cooperative. Al-Corn will oversee matters, including human resources, the purchase of goods and services, payment of expense, corn procurement, marketing, record keeping, tax matters, business planning, and budgeting.
